The transportation and processing service is charged for on the basis of a tariff plus a share of operating expenditure.
The tariff portion will vary as a function of a number of things including level of service, Send or Pay, gas quality, opportunity costs and modification requirements.
Operating expenditure (opex) is normally charged based on a pro-rata throughput share of the plant and pipeline opex. This varies over time as a function of total throughput.
For indicative purposes, the cost of tariff plus opex share (in 2007 terms) will be in the region of 0.75 p/scm (equivalent to around 2 p/th assuming a GCV of 39.6 MJ/sc) with the exact figure depending on the negotiated tariff and the unit opex cost.
As the separate use of either transportation or processing capacity alone effectively sterilizes capacity in the other, the discount for a processing-only service is likely to be nominal. Contact names and details are provided on this website to permit a prospective shipper to discuss such an unbundled service and to obtain an indicative cost.
Tariff is normally indexed annually based on a standard index published by the Central Statistical Office.
